******************************************************** " the perfect preschool introduction to zoology." Thanks to Kids' Book Review for this latest review of I've Got Feet!******************************************************************************* What
a joy to be a presenter at the the last SCBWI Vic meeting for
2017. My talk about Writing Children's Nonfiction was well received,
the venue at the Docklands Library was stunning, and the chance to meet
up with such talented friends and colleagues was great.

********************************************************* I am honored that I'VE GOT FEET! has joined such talented company in being nominated for the CYBILS Award 2017 for Elementary-Middle Grade Nonfiction. October 2017************************************************ Many thanks to Ellen Jackson, children's author extraordinare, for this latest review of I've Got Feet! (Taken from Amazon.com) "This
understated book hits just the right note. The apt one-line
descriptions capture something essential about the animals depicted and
the variety of claws, paws, fins, flippers and hooves found on planet
Earth. Julie Murphy’s deceptively simple prose enlightens while it
entertains. We learn that cheetah feet have claws that “grip the ground
even better than soccer shoes” and that great horned owl feet can
“snatch up skunks, which are almost three times heavier than the owl!”
The
illustrations are masterful. The color palette changes from spread to
spread and elegantly mirrors the tone of each description. Gently poetic
and artfully conceived--yet lots of fun and just right for the kid in
all of us." 5 stars
********************************************************* "This wonderful picture book will charm young animal lovers. With
colorful artwork and interesting facts on every spread, this is a title
that will encourage young children to look at animals in new ways." I was thrilled to read this lovely review of I've Got Feet! from Through The Looking Glass Children's Book Reviews. It is especially meaningful for me because the reivewer, Marya Jansen-Gruber, is a fellow zoology graduate and writer. Remember, there's a free, downloadable Teacher's Guide to go with I've Got Feet, packed with activities and puzzles connected to literacy, math, science and geography.
